Santa, Take 2

Poor Santa, he looks almost as frightened as Grady.

He sees you when you're sleeping

Grady that is.And he crawls on you.
And plays precariously close to your head.
So you better watch out.

Patrick and Clothes. Those Terrible Clothes.

My morning routine:

Play with Patrick to distract me from those people who force me to get dressed. They are so mean. I cry as they force my little hands through sleeves, button up my shirt and put on shoes and socks. I try to kick my legs so that they will not be able to get them into my pants. But when it is 2 against 1, it is not much of a fight.

The next thing I know, the torture is over, my clothes are on and I'm ready for school.

By the way, I'm eleven months old today.

Don't Shoot Your Eye Out

Do you think he is ready for a Red Rider BB gun?
That's what I thought. Maybe next year...

A few short months ago...

Kerry was in town to visit.
My orchid still had lots of flowers.
All of the trees outside were covered in pretty green leaves.
Grady was still eating mashed green beans and getting them all over himself.
He was a lot smaller.
The sun was shining bright at dinner time.

Christmas Parade

The middle of the night

I have been thinking a lot lately about how I miss those middle of the night wake up calls from Grady. The ones where he wants to be held and rocked back to sleep. Where it is silent and dark in his room and we are the only two people in the world for that moment. He must have known that I needed a few minutes of that alone time because last night at exactly midnight, he started crying.
So we rocked, he slept, and I stared at the perfect little baby in my arms. And then we both had the best nights sleep ever.

Christmastime

We finally bought our tree last night. Christmas seems like it is coming so fast this year. I am probably the only one, but I am kind of hoping for an 80 degree Christmas this year. Either that, or snow. Snow would be fun for Christmas too. I'm not settling for the in between. No more 50 degree days. Winter clothes are so blah, and Grady prefers to be barefoot and shirtless rather than bundled up. The poor boy actually wears 2 sets of pajamas because he can't sleep with a blanket. So that is my Christmas wish. Warmth. And 24 hours of "A Christmas Story" on TBS.

Hey Happy Boy!

I thought you would enjoy a few good smiley faces from this weekend. How is it that a baby's laugh can put you in such a good mood?

check out my teeth!

In other news, my bed was lowered yesterday. I was this close to escaping. But, alas, I am now in a fortress of a crib, with absolutely no way out until I grow at least another foot or get REALLY good at scaling crib bars.
