The Fair 2009

Remember us at The Fair last year? A lot has changed since then.
This year, Grady was much more interested in the food machine than anything else.Look at the poor goat's eyes as Grady grabs his beard.

And the little ones kept getting away as soon as Grady got his hands on them.

Corndogs again.Mmmmmm....

This year he was big enough for rides. We each took a turn on the merry-go-round.

During my turn he was fascinated with the ceiling.

Such excitement for a little boy, it was sensory overload.

Grady's Last Lesson (Edited Again)

Next time I sense sickness creeping around the corner, it will be masks for all and hand sanitzier and lysol will be abundant in every room of the house. No kisses, no sharing drinks, nothing. So far, we know that Grady has shared his germs with 6 people, and we are still counting. I'm so sorry!!!!!

Lessons From Grady: Lessons 3 & 4

• I have learned that in hindsight, my dad was not too strict. In fact, I plan on implanting a microchip somewhere on Grady that has a GPS, blood alcohol detector and whatever else comes along between now and his teenage years to keep track of him. And it is all because I love him.

• I have also learned that 21 months go by WAY too fast.

Lessons From Grady: Lesson 2

I have learned that Grady will never, ever love me the way that I love him. It is impossible. I accept it and know that I love him more than anything in the whole world. Isn't that what a parent's love is all about?

Lessons From Grady: Lesson 1

I have learned that a nickname is a term of endearment, not something meant to embarrass you through your teenage years. It will, however, embarrass you through your teenage years. That being said, I am proud to say that my nickname was "nunu" (pronounced; new-new) and I know it was given to me with all the love in the world. And that is how Grady's nickname came about, through the endless love we have for that sweet boy. I present to you, "The Turd" (also known as "turd" "turdy" "turtle" and "turdy man"):
