Our Christmas Travelathon
It's been a long time but we are finally home and settling back in, with enough toys to fill an entire new room. Dale is working on a toy chest. There will be plenty of pictures to come of Grady and all of his new friends/noise makers. But, for the time being, here is a contest. Take a good hard look at this picture and let me know, what does not belong?
The first one to answer this correctly, gets a giant box of cheerios. And yes, I realize I need to be better at cutting my son's toenails.

Patrick and Clothes. Those Terrible Clothes.
My morning routine:
Play with Patrick to distract me from those people who force me to get dressed. They are so mean. I cry as they force my little hands through sleeves, button up my shirt and put on shoes and socks. I try to kick my legs so that they will not be able to get them into my pants. But when it is 2 against 1, it is not much of a fight.
The next thing I know, the torture is over, my clothes are on and I'm ready for school.
By the way, I'm eleven months old today.

A few short months ago...
My orchid still had lots of flowers.
All of the trees outside were covered in pretty green leaves.
Grady was still eating mashed green beans and getting them all over himself.
He was a lot smaller.
The sun was shining bright at dinner time.

The middle of the night
I have been thinking a lot lately about how I miss those middle of the night wake up calls from Grady. The ones where he wants to be held and rocked back to sleep. Where it is silent and dark in his room and we are the only two people in the world for that moment. He must have known that I needed a few minutes of that alone time because last night at exactly midnight, he started crying.
So we rocked, he slept, and I stared at the perfect little baby in my arms. And then we both had the best nights sleep ever.

Christmastime
We finally bought our tree last night. Christmas seems like it is coming so fast this year. I am probably the only one, but I am kind of hoping for an 80 degree Christmas this year. Either that, or snow. Snow would be fun for Christmas too. I'm not settling for the in between. No more 50 degree days. Winter clothes are so blah, and Grady prefers to be barefoot and shirtless rather than bundled up. The poor boy actually wears 2 sets of pajamas because he can't sleep with a blanket. So that is my Christmas wish. Warmth. And 24 hours of "A Christmas Story" on TBS.
