My Big Fat Lip

My poor little boy had his first busted lip last night. He was brushing his teeth and next thing you know, his lip met the faucet. As soon as one wound heals, another appears. At least there are no scars. I knew that any pictures of that would make you sad, so here he is in happier times.

Memorial Day

Grady got to hang out with his great-papa. Notice the rosy cheeks and big bump on his forehead. He shed his shirt within a few minutes of playing outside. It was HOT.
Dale and Jay were up sometime in the 4 a.m. hour to cook this tasty pig for all of us to enjoy. Our fridge now contains BBQ for a weeks worth of meals. One of the best parts of summer is the long days and the many holidays to spend with families.

Bye Bye Vista After Five

I doubt we will be visiting you again this Spring. We enjoyed one whole song last night, the latter half was enjoyed while we were walking to the car. Megan wanted to know if Grady was whiney. He is passing that stage, now we are on to "walkey". The boy won't sit still.

This is not our chair. At least the woman in front of him thought that a little boy wandering aimlessly through a crowd was humorous.

I was wearing a dress that showed a little too much if I bent over so I was relieved of chase duty. For the first time in our lives, we left with tickets still in our pockets. Only three weeks left to use them. We may just have to wait until the Fall.

Everything Has A Place

The problem is, we often disagree on where that "place" should be. Maybe he will just be a really organized child.

Grady's Pool

It comes with a lifeguard:
And some Zesto's sweet tea to quench your thirst on a hot afternoon:

Thanks to that pool though, I think Grady's chances of ever getting into Hammond are shot.

This Speaks For Itself

I guess having a child that likes to entertain himself is both a blessing and a curse.

One Of These Things Does Not Belong

Our home will never be the same. My compulsive picking up has hit a new level. With two dogs and one little boy, I can't clean fast enough, it is truly impossible.

And many of the things that do belong here are now missing. Along with Dale's flosser. It is more than likely in the backyard, in which case, I don't think he wants it back.

Jealousy Rears Its Ugly Head

All is well when Grady gets my lap.

All is not well when mommy is holding Alanna.

What I Did In Jacksonville

I touched a fish.Played with my cousins.
Ate boiled peanuts.
Showed my Granddaddy how I walk.
Played really close to the water.
And swung until dizziness set in.
The End.

What Makes A Mother's Day?

Lots of time with the family,
Some brand new sheets,

A pretty new hydrangea plant,

And the best son and husband in the world (who also seemed to know that I really needed a pedicure)

Truce

Dear Giant Hershey Bar,

Here's a deal: You quit calling my name and taunting me with your yummyness everyday at lunch and I will quit breaking gigantic hunks off of you. This way we both win.

Sincerely,

Amanda

It's Raining, It's Pouring

But this little man is not snoring. However he did bump his head last night. Kristin's Yummy Meatloaf made it all better though.

This Is How It's Done

Grady has been carefully observing us for a while and has decided that he is the expert on using a spoon. Don't you dare try to take it away from him or help him out or he will be M-A-D at you. If he looks a little skinnier next time you see him, you will know why. Spoons only work when they are right side up. I tried to tell him this but he isn't into reasoning yet.
